About

My research concentrates on eighteenth-century Sephardi Jewish history with a particular focus on the relationship between Jewish culture and the Enlightenment, sociability, and the history of the Jewish book.
My manuscript on Jewish integration in the eighteenth-century port-city of Livorno, tentatively entitled "Mediterranean Enlightenment: Livornese Jews, Tuscan Culture, and 18th-Century Reformism" (currently under review), deals with the themes of Jewish acculturation, privilege, and social segregation.

At QC I teach a variety of classes in European Jewish history and Sephardi history.
